Objective of the Society

Bhai Ghaniya Ji Mission Society (Regd.), Amritsar was established on 12th May, 1997 with the sole aim of extending selfless service to the poor, needy and downtrodden patients. Initially, the society was started with 11 members and monthly donations of Rs. 25,000/- was collected to help the poor and needy patients. But now by the grace of Almighty and unstinted co-operation of our generous donors (presently about 2300 in nos.), the yearly collection has risen to more than Rs. One Crore & fifty lakh only. The members of the society are deputed to the Govt. & Charitable Hospitals - T.B. Hospital, Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Sri Guru Ramdass Hospital, (Gurudwara Shaheeda & Vallah), Mata Kaulan Ji Mission Hospital, to help the poor and needy patients.

Besides that, the society is also running Bhai Ghaniya Ji Sajan Saraswati Mission Hospital (OPD). The major cost of construction of hospital was donated by Sajan Saraswati Foundation Trust U.K. through Late S. Gurmukh Singh Ji Baura & Dr. Gurmeet Kaur Baura Trustees of Trust, where about 250 patients daily take Medical treatment. S. Narinder Singh Ji Memorial Bhai Ghaniya Ji Homeopathic Dispensary, S. Gian Singh Chawla Memorial Bhai Ghaniya Ji Physiotherapy Centre, S. Amarjit Singh Chawla of Australia, our Associated Member of Society donated the entire amount in memory of his father S. Gian Singh Ji Chawla. Bhai Ghaniya Ji Acupressure Centre is also working at 62, East Mohan Nagar, Amritsar. Apart from this Ms. Dephne May of U. K. has donated the entire amount for the construction of adjoining Hospital building & Ceragem Thermal Massager centre under her name.

With the generous help and kind co-operation of Sajan Saraswati Trust U.K., the society has one Ambulance Cum Dead Body Van and One Mobile Dispensary Van which have been working since 17-12-2007. Two villages are being covered twice a week and on meager amount of Rs.10, two days medicine is being given to the patients. Rs. 15 is charged for ECG and Rs. 15 for Sugar Testing etc. and after every two months we rotate the van to the other villages.

Every year, the society also organises 2-3 Medical Camps in different villages, to help the needy and poor patients. The Eye Camps are also organised every year and free Eye Operation facilities are provided to the patients with the help of Thekedar Bishan Singh Hanspal Public Charitable Trust, Amritsar.

The society is planning to start similar dispensaries in the backward and poor localities of the city, one such dispensary has been started in Maqbool Pura area, a poor and backward locality of the city on 13-12 2008, sponsored by S. Tarlochan Singh Ji Chawla of Raipur, (Chhattisgarh), about 100 patients are being attended daily where a need for a computerised lab is felt to give better services to the patients.

We daily witness a number of road accidents and injured needs to be shifted to hospital immediately. For this purpose, the society is considering very seriously to encroach upon the kind generosity of all our member donors to make them prepared to go for a Trauma Van.
